Louella June Hughes Lockwood born October 27, 1937 in Denton, Texas died peacefully in her sleep November 12, 2017 at her home in Sanger, TX. Louella was a lifelong Denton resident. She was a cosmetologist for many years. Unfortunately, Lou had been very ill the last few years of her life and was cared for by her husband.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Buster and Erma Hughes; she is survived by her husband, John Lockwood of Sanger, Texas; her brother and sister-in-law, Quincey and Tommie Hughes of Bolivar, Texas; her daughter, Sheila Kresse of Sanger, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Nadie Lockwood of Kennedale, Texas; grandsons, Michael and Jolene Hilliard of Yaak, Montana, Jake and Kristina Kresse of Benbrook, Texas, Sean Kresse of Livingston, TX, Taylor Lockwood of Kennedale, Texas, Logan Lockwood of Kennedale, Texas; Cousin Stoney Price of Hico, Texas. She also leaves behind numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 17, 2017 at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton, Texas. The family would like to give sincere and special thanks to the staff of Mercy Hospice: Lisa, Renee, Christy and Linda. Lou would have wanted to say, "Thank you for caring for me when I could not care for myself."
Lou is gone from our sight but remains in our hearts forever. 1 John 2: 8.  The darkness is past and the true light shines.
