IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lori
Paolino
December 5, 1941 – January 22, 2022
Lori Paolino, 80, passed away at home on January 22, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond, and is survived by sons Robert (WI) and Philip (TX), brother-in-law Lawrence and sister-in-law Yumi (NC), and her canine companion Georgia. Lori was born in Amsterdam, NY, and lived in New York's Capital District until the couple's retirement, followed by more than two decades in Tucson, AZ, before moving to Denton.
Lori studied accounting and worked many years for Albany Savings Bank and H&R Block, but her creative passions were photography and quilting, and she had done feature photography for a local section of the Albany Times-Union. She had a strong volunteer service ethic, volunteering for a diverse range of organizations including WMHT-17 public television, Tucson Medical Center, and greyhound rescue groups in Tucson. In addition to volunteering with greyhound rescue, she also adopted four older greyhounds over the years. As an active member of the Arizona Quilters Guild and the Tucson Quilters Guild, she made children's quilts and other items for child protective services, foster care, and hospitals, among other service projects with quilting groups.
Lori and Ray enjoyed travel together and with their sons, from Maine to Southern California, and from the Caribbean to British Columbia. Lori's interest in quilting began back east as an extension of her lifelong interest in sewing, but it grew substantially after moving to Tucson. Lori travelled to many quilt shows, workshops, and conferences with her quilting friends, and enjoyed meeting other quilters throughout much of the country. No formal memorial service is planned, but the sons intend to arrange for an informal gathering in Tucson with Lori's friends later in the year.
