Loretta Hensley Harp, of Bowie, died Friday, December 29, 2017 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Denton.
Mrs. Harp was born on July 20, 1940 in Stony, TX to Silas and Mary Vessie Hensley. She retired from the Denton State Supported Living Center. She was married to Bobby Delano Harp on July 2, 1966 in Denton; he died on December 23, 2009.
She is survived by her daughter, Vickie Dunham of Denton; sons, Russell Dale Thompson of Denton, Gregory Delano Thompson of Bowie; sister, Loveda Cenova of Burleson; brother, Gary Don Hensley of Bryan, Tommy Hensley of Bryan; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Sheila Dunham; sister, Hettie Davis; brothers, William Hensley, Albert Hensley, Wendell Hensley.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 3, 2018 in the chapel of Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton. Brother Russell McDonald will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery, Decatur, TX.
