Lorene Carol Butler found peace, in the arms of our Heavenly Father, on Tuesday, January 21, 2014.
Graveside services will be Saturday, January 25, 2014, 2:00 pm at Belew Cemetery, Aubrey, Texas.
She was born December 24, 1942 and raised in Durant, Oklahoma. After graduating with a degree in teaching from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, she worked many years expanding the minds of elementary age children. She later went on to earn her Masters in English as a second language, to help teach Spanish speaking students to learn English. Lorene took pride in watching the young minds of her students blossom.
After 33 years of teaching, Lorene was diagnosed with a rare brain disease: Spinal Cerebellum Degeneration. Anyone who knew Lorene, knew she would not take this diagnosis sitting down. While her illness did force her to retire, it only gave her more time to be an outstanding grandmother to Joshua, Alexis, Raeanna, Mason, and Elora; to garden, play dominos, scrabble, enjoy word puzzles and to travel with her late husband.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Hester and Georgie Riddle, niece, Merry Riddle Carter, and husband of 33 years, Jack Butler.
She is survived by her sons, Bobby Rheinfeldt and wife Andrea, Gary Rheinfeldt and wife Melinda, by her daughter, Cindy Taylor and husband Steven, brothers, Wallace Riddle and wife Rosemary, Jesse Riddle and wife Leah, and several nieces and nephews.
Lorene's kindred spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She had a beautiful smile and loving heart. Heaven has truly gained an Angel.
