Lonnie Joe Palmer passed away at the age of 59 on May 18, 2012 at his home in North Richland Hills, TX. He was born on July 27, 1952 in Denton, TX to Godfrey and Marlyn (Evans) Palmer. He was married to Laura C. Pickens. Lonnie was a veteran of 24 years with the United States Navy. He was a member of the Sons of the Confederate Veterans, the 12th Texas Infantry, the Fort Worth Civil War Round Table, and the Hoods Brigade Reactivated. Lonnie also volunteered at the Civil War Museum in Fort Worth.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 from 6-7:30pm at the Denton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at 2pm at the Denton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Prairie Mound Cemetery in Argyle, TX.
Survivors include his wife, Laura; son, Randall N. Palmer and wife, Tamara of Fort Campbell, KY; daughter, Andrea D Marichal and husband, Victor of Melbourne, FL; sister, Dianna Sanford of Burleson, TX; step-sister, Janice Taylor of Denton, TX; and grandchildren, Sierra M. Palmer, Helen Marichal, Anthony Marichal, Kaitlynn Palmer, and Thomas Palmer.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
