Rev. Lonnie Houston Finney, age 88, resident of Lake Village Nursing Home, Lewisville, TX went to be with the Lord on January 30, 2008. He was born on August 28, 1920 in Wetumka, Hughes County, Oklahoma to Lily Mae Crabtree and James Edward Finney. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Melba "Skeet' Finney and a brother Ray Allen Finney. He is survived by a sister, Walsa Mae Foxx and husband, Tony of Berry Hill, OK, brothers, Lance Carl Finney of Auburndale, Florida, Lowell Dean Finney of Sand Springs Oklahoma and a son, Rev. Larry H. Finney and wife Cheryl who reside in Double Oak, TX, a daughter Sharon and her husband, Jim Knightstep, who reside in Lewisville, TX and Delores "Skip" Finney of Anna, TX. Rev. Finney has 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII and was an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God for over 50 years. A celebration of his life will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 3rd, at Grace Community Church of Flower Mound with internment at Fairview Cemetery in Denison, TX. The family wishes sincere thanks to the staff at Lake Village Nursing Home for their outstanding care for our parents the last five years. Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home of Lewisville is in charge of arrangements.
