Lola M. "Pete" Sims, 79, of Denton passed away on Friday, July 23, 2010 at Denton Regional Medical Center. She was born November 9, 1930 in Texas to Raymond H. and Oma O. (Lovelace) Hollis. She was married to the late Henry Orville "Strawberry" Sims in 1947 who died in 1973. She was retired from Denton High School cafeteria and principal's office and had worked at the First Baptist Church, of which she was a member.
A funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Monday, July 26, 2010 in the Chapel of Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton, with Rev. Ken Cartwright, officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery at Lincoln Park. There will be a visitation on Sunday, from 3 P.M. until 5 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Denton High School, % Denton Independent School District, 1307 N. Locust, Denton, TX 76201 in memory of Lola M. Sims.
Mrs. Sims is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Lynn Sims and D'Arlene Ver Duin of Fort Worth, TX and a sister, Oleta Thomas of Scio, OR.
