Lois Ann Vest, 94, of Denton, died Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at Denton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

Mrs. Vest was born September 5, 1914 in Buffalo Hart, Illinois to Curtis and Fatima (Banta) Johnston. She was married to John Russell Vest, Jr. on July 27, 1932 in Lafayette County, Arkansas, (he died February 1958). She worked for many years as a houseparent at the Denton State School. She was a member of the First Assembly of God in Denton.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday December 27, 2008 at the First Assembly of God in Denton. Rev. Harvey Junker will officiate the service. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday December 26 at the  Mulkey-Mason  Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton. Interment will be at Wild Rose Cemetery in Webb City, MO.

She is survived by her daughters, Caroline Vaughn of Aubrey, Patricia Vest of Denton, Priscilla Wederstrandt of Argyle; sons, Floyd Russell Vest of Denton, Julius Vest of Lufkin, James E. Vest of Las Vegas, NV, John R. Vest of Denton; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren.
