IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Logan
Cheek
November 9, 1995 – November 17, 2023
On the evening of November 17th, 2023, Logan Cheek (28) passed away peacefully with their loving family by their side.
Born November 9th, 1995, to Laura and Lane Cheek, Logan lived their rambunctious early years in Orange County, California with their three siblings Laura Nicole, Adam, and Jillian. In 2001, Logan moved with their family to Texas and quickly made Denton their home.
Logan was a caretaker by nature. They always went the extra mile to make everyone feel safe and loved, and even chose a career dedicated to caring for others. Logan began their career working in children's daycare where they were adored by the kids and parents alike. It wasn't long before Logan obtained their CNA certificate. And during the COVID pandemic, they held the front line; administering testing and care from upstate New York to a cruise ship in the Caribbean. Eventually, they were called back to helping children, and began teaching ABA therapy at a center for Autism. Logan's enthusiasm and passion for helping others, especially children, was felt deeply by their coworkers, clients, and friends.
Logan was undoubtedly a fun and free-spirited soul who took on many creative passions. By far, their biggest love was singing and performing; always stealing the show to bring joy to those around them. Logan had the gift of being able to transform themselves, crafting their own incredibly fabulous looks with elaborate make-up and costumes of their own creation. It did not matter about the size of the event or venue; Logan would perform as if on center stage on Broadway. Logan was also a talented artist who frequently gifted paintings, jewelry, knits – you name it -- to loved ones. Logan believed in the power of art and performance to express their true self, and it was always exciting to see what they would come up with next.
Logan is survived by their father Lane Cheek, their mother Laura Cheek, and siblings Laura Nicole, Adam, and Jillian. They will be fondly remembered by grandmother Jeanne Lloyd and step-grandfather Roger Lloyd, Grandmother Carolyn Cheek, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. They are preceded in death by grandfather Rudy Chavez and Grandfather Donald Cheek.
