Lockadee Hall Newland (84), peacefully died at home Monday, October 17th, 2022. She was surrounded by family in her final days. She married Lafayette Newland March 5th, 1955. In the couple's sixty-seven years of marriage, they were blessed with two daughters, ten grandchildren,
and five great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Newland was preceded in death by her parents, Alvis Phillips and Erma Hain, brother Troy Hall, and her grandson Zackary Blagg. She is survived by her husband Lafayette Newland, daughters Tobye Blagg and husband Rodney, Joni Coker and husband Ed, grandchildren Anthony Blagg, Skyler Blagg and wife Anita, Grace (Blagg) MacAllister and husband Greg, Tate (Coker) Condrin and husband Mike, Peyton Coker-Sethi and husband Kevin, Brooks Coker, Devin Coker, Andrew Coker, Emery Coker and Cedric Reid, and her five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 21, 2022 at Gateway United Baptist Church in Denton at 10:00 a.m. Services to follow at 11:00 am. The church is located at 2401 N. Bell Avenue, Denton, TX 76209.
