Martha Elizabeth "Liz" Bever of Denton, Texas, 80, passed away on May 17th, 2015. She was surrounded by her loving husband, Essell (married 54 years and four months), daughter Dawne with husband Bill Bonds from Denton, TX, son Richard from West Hollywood, CA, and daughter Ann with husband Patrick Rogers from Dallas, TX. Liz was born on October 11th, 1934, to Kern and Anna Ellis of Shoals, Indiana and she was raised in Mitchell, Indiana. She married Essell Lloyd Bever on January 13th 1961 in Mitchell, Indiana.
Liz enjoyed reading, quilting, flower gardening, bowling, traveling across the country and the world, and watching her favorite sports teams (an avid Notre Dame fan) and Western movies, especially John Wayne films. She was a valued volunteer at the Denton Thrift Shop for many years.
In addition to her immediate family, she is survived by her brother John Ellis in Mitchell, IN, sister Joan with husband Gene Atchinson in Mitchell, IN, sister Marilyn Wright in Orinda, CA and sister–in-law Judy Bell; as well as three nephews, Michael Ellis, Robert Ellis and Alan Wright; four nieces, Katherine Avery, Joy Anderson, Janie Hert and Jamie Chastain; two grandchildren Kristina Tucker and Tony Bonds, and six great-grandchildren, Caitlin, Liam, Keenan, Sophia and Kira Kahney, and Starling Bonds; as well as many dear friends in Colorado. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Richard and James Ellis and brothers-in-law, Jack Hurt and Gordon Wright, sister-in-law Jan Ellis, nephew William Wright and grandchild Kelly Bonds.
Visitation will be on Thursday, May 21st from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and the service on Friday, May 22nd at 10:30 AM at the Haverly Chapel, Mitchell, IN. with a graveside service at noon at Ames Chapel Cemetery in Paoli, IN.
