IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Linda Rose
Mash
December 9, 1931 – January 21, 2024
Linda Rose Mash of Denton, TX entered the loving arms of Jesus on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at the age of 92. She was born on December 9, 1931, a descendant of one of the founding families of the Republic of Texas, in Corsicana, TX to Graham and Lois Dickson. She met the love of her life, Virgil "Pete" Mash in elementary school and later married on January 27, 1952, at the age of 20, enjoying 72 years of marriage. As the wife of a Marine fighter pilot, they were stationed at various locations for the first five years of their marriage when they decided to settle down and start a family. Pete stayed in the Marine reserves but went to work for Braniff Airlines and initially they settled in Farmer's Branch, TX. After the birth of their children, David & Amy, they moved to Denton, TX to become longtime residents. While Pete continued his love of flying, Linda embraced being a mom and homemaker. Her love of motherhood was reflected in Proverbs 22:6 (KJV) "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it." She also had a passion for travel, reading, genealogy, history, quilting, gardening, and volunteering in their church.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Graham and Lois Dickson, and her brother, Graham Dickson. She is survived by her husband, Pete Mash; her children, David Mash (wife Colleen) and Amy Poskey (husband Dale); her grandsons, Aaron, and Jonathan Mash; her grand dog, Lucky; grand cats, Essie and Patience; great grand dogs, Karlie and Marley; and many nieces and nephews.
In keeping with her wishes for a simple cremation and interment at Roselawn Cemetery in Denton, TX, there will be no funeral or memorial services.
