Linda Ruth (Clark) Barrett of Denton, Texas

Linda was born in Decatur, Texas. She & her family moved to Denton when she was 4 years old and lived there the rest of her life. She graduated from Denton Senior High School in 1967. In the summer of 1969, she began dating and fell in love with the love of her life, Rick. They were married April 3, 1970. August 1971 they were blessed with their only child, Kevin Lee.

Linda was employed at NTSU (now UNT) bookstore also the City of Denton where she worked in several departments, including the Library and Code Enforcement.

Linda was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She enjoyed having her family around her. She deeply loved her family, friends & pets, and was loved by them as well. She was a hard worker and went above and beyond what was expected of her.

She was a believer in Jesus, her savior. She was a faithful prayer warrior. Linda was a member of Bible Study Fellowship for many years. At the time of her passing she was a member of Highland Baptist Church in Denton.

Linda was preceded in death by her son Kevin, her father A.L. Clark, her mother Betty Ruth (Hasty) Clark, and sister Carolyn Sue (Clark) Thomson. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Rick Barrett of Denton, sister-in-law Dorothy Wood & husband Michael of Denton, brother-in-law Bruce Thomson of Denton, grandchildren Jessica Lynn Meier and husband Curtis, their children Alexis Meier and Dixie Jo Foutch all of Allen, Texas, grandson David Micheal Barrett of Denton, Isaac Matthew Barrett and wife Hannah of Ft. Worth, Texas, and numerous friends, multiple Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. Thank you to all of you who loved and cared about her. Also, a big thank you to the doctors and nurses who took care of her during her hospital stay.
