Lillie Barthold Trietsch age 97 of Krum, passed away Tuesday Oct. 11, 2005 at Presbyterian Hospital of Denton. She was born on November 24, 1907 in Krum to H.C. and Lena (King) Barthold. As a little girl she went to school by horse and buggy . In the winter her mother would wrap warm bricks in a blanket to keep her feet warm. She sometimes had trouble with her horse when he got spooked and would take off at a high rate of speed. She graduated from Krum High School in 1924 and attended what is now University of North Texas and took piano lessions at what is now Texas Woman's University. She was in good mental and physical health and Still lived in the same home a mile from the home of her parents, where she was born. Her grandchildren thought she made the best fried chicken , macaroni and cheese and chocolate pies ever.
She married Herman Trietsch on January 19, 1929 in Blue Mound. He passed away November 6,1983 . She was a member of the Blue Mound Methodist Church and a Homemaker.
She is survived by her Son Weldon and wife JoAnn Trietsch of Krum. Daughter Lillian and husband Paul Sturm of Pilot Point. Grandchildren Charles and wife Deanna Trietsch, Jolene (Trietsch) and husband Rick Maxwell , Douglas and wife Karen Sturm , Linda (Sturm) and husband Bill Sexton , Cynthia (Sturm) and husband Glen Ray, Penny (Trietsch) and husband Lee Mears, Gerald Sturm, Gary Trietsch and Lisa Sturm. Great grand children Sarah and Elizabeth Sturm, Billy and Brittany Sexton, Emily and Allison Ray. Many nices,nephews, cousins , friends and a special friend Cindy Compton. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years her parents , infant daughter Dorothy Evelyn, sister Rosa Hopkins and brother Herbert Barthold.
Graveside Services will be 11:00 am Friday Oct. 14, 2005 at Blue Mound Cemetery. The Rev. John Stout will officiate the service. Visitation will be 6 to 7:30 pm Thursday Oct. 13, 2005 at the Funeral Home.
