Obituary

Lillian Madeline Wylie, (84) passed away on November 10, 2016 at her home in Denton, TX. She was born on July 21, 1932 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Speed Jones, Sr. and Helen Richardson Jones. She was married to Edward J. Wylie on August 21st, 1954 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Together they pursued their passion in the education field after graduation from the University of Oklahoma and spent their summers pursuing advanced degrees.   Beginning her career as a teacher in rural Kansas, she retired from Newton Rayzor Elementary School in 1994 after 40 years of teaching.

Mrs. Wylie is survived by her son and daughter in law, Rod and Jeanne Wylie of Corinth, TX; sister, Edith Jones of Oklahoma City, OK; brother, Speed Jones Jr. and wife Anna of Greenville, TX; and two granddaughters, Allie Wylie and Erin Wylie, and many nieces and nephews, as well as many friends and former students.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 13, 2016 from 4 PM until 6 PM at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, (705 N. Locust Denton) followed by a funeral service on Monday, November 14, 2016 at 10:00 A. M. in the chapel of the funeral home. Rev. Charles Wylie will officiate the service and a burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Online condolences may be left at www.mulkeymasondenton.com.
