Lillian Shirley, 94, of Denton, died Saturday March 24, 2007 at Baylor – All Saints Hospital in Ft. Worth.
Mrs. Shirley was born October 23, 1912 in McLean, TX to William Carl and Claudie (Kinard) Carpenter. She was married to Walter Elbert Shirley on January 20, 1934 in Frederick, OK. She worked as a Licensed Vocational Nurse for Dr. Tom Patterson for many years. She was a Pythian Sister and a member of Highland Baptist Church.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday March 28 at Highland Baptist Church, 600 Thomas St., Denton, TX. Rev. Eddie Schafer will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM Tuesday March 27 at the funeral home.
Survivors include her daughters, Carol Embry of Ft. Worth, Kay Draughon of Ft. Worth; sister, Clara Faye Rogers, of Dumas, TX; brothers, Max Carpenter of Frisco, W.C. Carpenter, Jr. of Lewiston, Idaho; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter E. Shirley (he died on Sept. 10, 2006) and a daughter, Janice Allen.
