Leslie Maguire, a resident of Lewisville, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, April 5, 2009 at the age of 77 after a long illness.
Born in London, England, on September 12, l931, he was employed for many years by Xerox Corporation.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Pat Maguire of Lewisville; daughter Theresa of Lewisville; son Tom of Daytona Beach, Florida; granddaughter Jessica and 2 week old great granddaughter, Addison, both of Flower Mound.
Les and Pat were married in London on August 28th, 1954. In 1956 they crossed the pond and settled in New York State where Les went to work for Carrier Corporation. Les and Pat became American citizens shortly after moving to upstate New York. While with Carrier, he became a Design Draftsman. After learning that trade, Les went to work for Xerox Corporation. The family moved with Xerox from Williamson, NY to Northridge, CA and finally settled in Lewisville in 1974. Les had a big part in founding the Lewisville Soccer Association and was very involved in soccer for years - coaching his son Tom, refereeing, and even coaching a women's team that included his wife Pat. After retiring from Xerox, Les ran his own pool business for 10 years. Then he started doing what he really loved - playing golf at least 3 times a week. Les was so proud to be an American and flew an American & British flag in his yard for years. Les was a wonderful husband and father who was loved dearly by his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
