Obituary

Le Ann Kaye (Lieber) Miller, age 48, passed away on August 8, 2014, with her husband, Michael Joseph Miller, daughter, Zoey Alexa Miller, and son, Miles Austin Miller.
Le Ann was born March 20, 1966, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Darrel Lieber and Patricia Robertson; she was the oldest of three children. Her childhood was spent surrounded by her family, relatives, and grandparents who made memories with her through fishing, camping and riding and showing horses. In 1985, she graduated from Homer High School, in Homer, NE, attended University of Nebraska at Omaha and University of Nebraska at Curtis, and shortly after entered into the Army National Guard. Cory Dixon was born to LeAnn in 1990. LeAnn used her amazing people skills and worked in sales, recruiting, and animal clinics.
While living in Frisco, Texas, Le Ann met Michael Miller. Le Ann and Mike married on May 27, 1999. In fifteen years of marriage, they would have two children, Zoey and Miles. Being an involved mother to her three children was the central part of her life. She volunteered as a classroom mother, Girl Scout leader, PTA member, school fundraising volunteer, school field trip chaperone, play volunteer, and anything else that would enhance her children's lives. The family enjoyed taking trips to numerous places as well as cruises to a few Caribbean islands. Le Ann especially liked visiting zoos and museums on their way. Nature and history were always a fascination. She also enjoyed collecting antiques and researching their history.
Whether as an able soldier in the Army National Guard, an older sister or mother, she gave it 100% and no challenge was too big. As a classroom mother who gave hope to children and assistance to teachers, or a fundraiser who perpetually needed led, she was always motivated and said, "What can I do now, and then what can I do then when I am done with that?" She set her eyes always on her goals. And in life, she willed herself and others to lend a hand for our schools, communities, churches, foundations, businesses, families, and children.
Her broad shoulders and strong will were evidence of God's design for her life to continually carry on through the great barriers and perform great services to all. Her mind was often on those whom needed her most, and those whom needed her most would find how willing she was to lend a hand, a shoulder, a home to those whom at the time thought that they could not make it through; those whom at the time no one else seemed to want; or even those whom may have been a creature with a lame leg, one eye, or the tendency to bite the hand that feeds it - there she was with her strength and perseverance to gather them all in.
She chose to be humble. She chose to be loving. She chose to be charitable. And we watched and learned. We know where to turn for peace because we watched her find peace in Christ.
Le Ann is preceded in death by her grandparents: Ernest and Hildred Lieber, and Alfred and Elaine Harris; aunt and uncle: Wally and Joy Birkley; and step-father: Gene Robertson. She is survived by her son: Cory Dixon; step-daughter, Macy Miller; parents: Darrel and Sue Lieber of Sioux City, IA, and Pat Robertson of Dakota City, NE; siblings: sister, Jill (Max) Schubauer of Gibbon, NE; sister, Melissa Masmar of South Sioux City, NE; brother, Craig (Sarah) Lieber of Woonsocket, SD; uncles and aunts: Herman and Eleanor Lieber; Del and Sharie Lieber; Laveta and Gene Bradley; Gary and Lynda Harris; and Jim and Janet Heath; a niece, Taylor Schubauer; nephews: Aiden and Denairic Lieber; and numerous cousins.
