It is with great sadness that he family of Lazara Elizalde Figueroa announces her passing after a brief illness, on Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at the age of 86.

She was born April 28, 1932, in El Porvenir, Mexico to Ines Figueroa and Donaciano Elizalde. She married Reyes Salayandia in 1950. They raised six daughters and two sons. Throughout life Lazara worked hard to provide as much as she could to all her eight children. She loved babies and kids thereby cherishing each grandchild, great-grandchild and great-great-grandchild that came into the family. She loved to joke around and would always find a way to lovingly tease everyone. She was jovial and fun and you could always count on getting a warm hug and kiss from her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Reyes, her parents Ines and Donanciano, brother Eleuterio Figueroa and sisters Andrea Elizalde and Refugio Elizalde.

Lazara is survived by daughters Rita Hood, Maria del Carmen Rodriguez, Martha S Holguin, Leticia Ramos, Sara Berumen and Ines Salayandia; sons, Reyes Salayandia and Jesus Salayandia; brothers Luciano Elizalde and Carlos Elizalde; and 20 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM on Friday, November 2, 2018 at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 3, 2018 in the chapel of Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home.

Con gran tristeza, la familia de Lazara Elizalde Figueroa anuncia su fallecimiento después de una breve enfermedad, el miércoles 31 de octubre de 2018, a la edad de 86 años.

Nació el 28 de abril de 1932, en El Porvenir, México, hija de Ines Figueroa y Donaciano Elizalde. Se casó con Reyes Salayandia en 1950. Criaron seis hijas y dos hijos.

A lo largo de la vida, Lazara trabajó arduamente para proporcionar tanto como pudo a sus ocho hijos. Ella amaba a los bebés y los niños por lo que apreciaba a cada nieto, bisnieto y tataranieto que ingresaba en la familia. Le encantaba bromear y siempre encontraba una manera de jugar con todos. Ella era alegre y divertida y siempre podías contar con recibir un cálido abrazo y un beso de ella.

Le precedieron en la muerte su esposo, Reyes, sus padres Inés y Donaciano, su hermano Eleuterio Figueroa y sus hermanas Andrea Elizalde y Refugio Elizalde.

A Lazara le sobreviven sus hijas Rita Hood, María del Carmen Rodríguez, Martha S. Holguin, Leticia Ramos, Sara Berumen e Ines Salayandia; hijos, Reyes Salayandia y Jesús Salayandia; los hermanos Luciano Elizalde y Carlos Elizalde; y 20 nietos, 23 bisnietos y 6 tataranietos.

La vamos a extrañar mucho.
