Laura Jo Lukaszewski-Taliaferro

Laurie, 66, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 30, 2025, following a heroic battle with cancer in Denton, TX. Laurie was born on June 11, 1959 to Joseph and Luanne Lukaszewski in Chicago, IL. and previously lived in Rosemont IL, Antioch IL, Hurst, TX and Denton, TX. She graduated from East Leyden High School in Franklin Park, IL. She met and married the love of her life in Texas.

She is survived by her husband Doyle Lasley Taliaferro, her mother Luanne Lukaszewski, her sisters Linda (Kevin) Wilson and Susan (Emil) Buczkowski, her brothers Joseph Lukaszewski and John (Kay) Lukaszewski and brother-in-law Paul (Cindy) Taliaferro and many, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Preceded in death by her father Joseph Lukaszewski, niece Lisa Cannon, and nephew Dakota Lukaszewski.

She loved her family deeply and enjoyed family gatherings. She also loved her plants and yard art. She will be missed by her entire family and many friends. She was employed by Forward Air for many years.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 2pm at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust St., Denton, Texas 76201 (940)382-6622.
