Eclectic Collector. Wanderer. Compassionate Friend. Audiophile. Free Spirit. Old Soul. A Simple Kind of Man. Larry's life began on October 31, 1962, in Rock Springs, Wyoming. By the ripe old age of three months, he became a world traveler when his father's job transferred his family to Iran. They returned to the States in late 1968, and settled in Laurel, Mississippi. Following his father's death in 1971, Larry's mother returned to her roots in Magnolia, where Larry grew up and eventually graduated from Magnolia High School in 1980. Spending the first six years of his life in the Iranian desert gave Larry an awareness of a great big world outside small town America. His unique personality and outlook on life were occasionally difficult for some to understand or appreciate, yet those who took the time to get to know him found him to be a loyal and caring friend. Larry collected friends just about as well as he collected memorabilia. He served in both the Army and the Navy, was a skilled auto mechanic, worked as a web designer (before the Internet became a household word), and managed information technology for several businesses through the years. These jobs took him from southern California to Las Vegas, Nevada and most recently to north Texas. He had a knack for accumulating knowledge and experiences which allowed him the freedom of conversing intelligently on a variety of topics ranging from the Theory of Relativity to religion, from classic rock n' roll music to politics, from photography to the ins and outs of computer programming. Those who knew him loved him dearly, and he will be greatly missed. Arrangements have been managed by Mulkey-Bowles Montgomery Funeral Home in Denton, Texas. A memorial service will be held to honor his life on Saturday, April 1 st , at 11 am at Memorial Park Cemetery in Magnolia, Arkansas.
