LARRY DALE CASTER
On Thursday, March 25, 2010 Larry Caster passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends. Larry was born December 25, 1940 in Dallas, Texas. He graduated from Sunset High School in 1959 and served with distinction in the United States Navy. He earned Engineering Degrees from Kansas State University and Texas A & M.
Although he worked throughout his career as an engineer and in management, his great passion in life was the Martial Arts. He won international fame as a black belt heavyweight fighter in the 1960's and became world renowned as a teacher and full contact kickboxing coach. Larry trained four World Champion Kick boxers and served on the Board of Directors of the Karate International Council of Kickboxing. He was inducted into the Texas Martial Arts Hall of Fame.
The greatest love in his life was Frances, his wife of forty-seven years. They enjoyed travel, fishing, bridge and gin rummy, spending time with their children and grandchildren.
Larry is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Frances; his son David and his wife Melonie, their children Elizabeth, Trae, Madisen, and Wyatt; His son Scott and wife Kathren and their son Matthew; his daughter June Caster and her daughter, Krista Keon; and his daughter Laura Nokes and her husband Travis, their children Peyton, Preston and Parker. Larry is also survived by a brother Earl Tillery and sister Pansy Ablett.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Mildred Caster and brother, Kay Caster.
Visitation will be Monday evening, March 29, 2010 from 7-9pm at the Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton, TX 76201
Funeral services will be at the First United Methodist Church, 201 S. Locust, Denton, TX at 11am, Tuesday, March 30th.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Larry Caster Martial Arts Trust, 221 Justin Rd., Suite 119-119, Flower Mound, TX 75068 or in person at any metroplex CHASE bank location.
