Jerry Laine Rose, 46, of Sanger, died Monday, December 16, 2013 at his home in Sanger.
Laine was born on June 28, 1967 in Springfield, OH to Jerry and Luci (Miller) Rose. He was married to Kelly Michele Funk on April 11, 2008 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He retired from the military after serving four years in the United States Air Force and sixteen years in the United States Army. During his military service he traveled all over the world and served three tours of duty in Iraq as a combat medic.
He is survived by his wife, Kelly Michele Rose of Sanger; daughter, Kristen Hawkins and her husband Justin of Aubrey; son, Nathan Olsen of Sanger; grandson, Carter Hawkins; mother, Luci Wallace of South Charleston, OH; father and stepmother, Jerry and Jeannette Rose of South Charleston, OH; sister, Heather Mapes of South Charleston, OH; stepbrother, Kyle Murphy of Springfield, OH; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Fred and Dana Funk of Aubrey; seven nephews, five nieces.
A visitation will be held from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton. A funeral service will be held after the visitation at 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. A graveside service will be held at 9: 15 AM Friday, December 20 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, TX.
