Obituary

Kenny Joe Gallaher, 44, of Flower Mound, TX, lost his long and courageous battle with cancer, April 13, 2009.  Kenny was an honors graduate of Midland Lee High School in 1982.  He moved to Dallas, TX in 1985 to pursue a career in graphic art.  His artistic talent and innovative ability allowed for his career success.  He loved working with computers and ended his career as Network Administrator for Omnicom Management, Inc. where he managed the network and security for several large advertising agencies in Dallas as well as other areas of the country.

Kenny fell in love and married Lare Gunn in 1990. Their daughter, Claire, the light of their lives, was born July 9, 1998.  Kenny's most joyous moments were spent attending his daughter's dance recitals, traveling, being with friends and family and taking beautiful photographs.  Kenny was also extremely proud of his salt water aquarium; numerous times during the day he could be found just watching the fish and corals as they swam and played.  His love for family and friends, his courage, determination, strength and love of life will forever live within the hearts of those he has left behind.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John Earl and Lorene Smallwood, his paternal grandfather, Vernon Gallaher, his grandmother, Granny Deweber, his older brother, Timothy Gene Gallaher and his cousin Jeff Hale.

He is survived by his wife, Lare Gallaher and daughter, Claire Gallaher; his mother and dad, Sharon and Jim Deweber of Midland, TX.; his father, Gene Gallaher of Grand Prairie, TX; his grandmother, Willie Gallaher; his sister Sherry Maruska, and nephews Jeryk and Kobe; his sister Nikki and husband Rand Van Fossen, and nieces Winter and Falon; mother and father in-law, Brooks and Fredda Gunn of Hewitt, TX; brother and sister in-law, James and Gloria Gunn of Las Vegas, NV, and nephews Greg and Randall; various aunts, uncles, cousins, and last but not least his dog and best friend Daisy.

A memorial service to celebrate Kenny's life will be held at First Baptist Church of Lewisville, 1251 W. Valley Ridge Blvd., at 11:00am Thursday April 16, 2009.  The family asks, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to American Hospice, First Baptist Church of Lewisville or to the American Cancer Society.  We want to say a very special thank you to American Hospice for their care of Kenny in his final days as well as their consideration and support of his family.
