Kenneth Eugene Nelson, 73, of Denton, died Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Medical City Hospital of Denton.
Mr. Nelson was born on December 9, 1943 in Plymouth, Indiana to Ephraim and Violet (Carlson) Nelson. He was married to Robyne Lerie Young on August 8, 1992 in Clovis, California. Ken was retired and attended Southmont Baptist Church and was a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society. He is survived by his wife, Robyne L. Nelson of Denton, sons, Kevin Nelson of Clovis, CA, Jeff Nelson of Lewisville, Matt Schulman of Tampa, FL; sister, Karen Wylie of Jefferson, GA; granddaughter, Ana Sofia Nelson and one grandson on the way. Ken was preceded in death by a son, Kenny Nelson, Jr.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Southmont Baptist Church, 2801 Pennsylvania Ave., Denton. Rev. Brad Cockrell will officiate the service. A visitation will be held prior to the service at the church from 10 AM until service time. Interment will be at 10:00 AM Monday, June 26, 2017 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas.
