Ken's work on earth is done and he received a call, an offer that he could not refuse, for an appointment from which he will not be returning.  This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with his parents, his son Scott and other family and friends.  Ken died on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at Medical City Denton.  He was surrounded by his family as he entered his eternal home in heaven after a long history of Congestive Heart Failure and Dementia.

Kenneth Joseph McGovern was born on September 13, 1941 in Manhattan, NY to Patrick and Edith.  He was raised from the age of two by his stepfather Merle Brann who he considered his Dad.  Ken is preceded in death by his brother, William McGovern, his parents and his son Scott McGovern.

Ken served in the Air Force for four years and was stationed most of that time in Colorado Springs.  This is where he met and married Charlotte Mitchell on October 14, 1962.  He received his Bachelor's degree from Colorado State University.  He and his family moved to Texas after he got out of the Air Force and then he earned his MBA at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, TX.

Ken was self-employed and worked in Commercial Real Estate for over 30 years.  He owned and managed several businesses throughout his career.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing tennis and spending time with his family.

His true passion was sharing Jesus Christ with others.  He served as President on the Board of Christian Sharing Christ for over 30 years.  As the president of this ministry, Ken made three trips to Central America to visit with those he and his wife so faithfully prayed for and dearly loved.  He also served on the Board of Mercy Heart for several years to minister to families of loved ones who were incarcerated.  After retirement, he and his wife moved to Robson Ranch where he was actively involved in a Men's Bible Study.

Ken is survived by his wife, Charlotte McGovern, sons Kevin McGovern and wife Tracy of Coppell and Kerry McGovern and wife Bonnie of Tariffville, Connecticut; grandchildren Jackson McGovern and wife Darian, Emma McGovern, Grayson McGovern and Hunter McGovern.
