Kenneth Dean Harper, 91, passed away peacefully in Denton, Texas on Thursday, February 10, 2022. He was born March 1, 1930 to Wiley Franklin and Ethel (Mack) Harper and was a lifetime resident of Denton.  He is survived by son Randy Harper of Denton; daughter and son-in-law Cheryl and Chuck Bailey of Mt. Pleasant; grandsons Craig Bailey and wife Angela of Mt. Pleasant; and Carter Bailey and wife Kami of Pflugerville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers William Harper, Mack Harper, and Thurman Harper, and his wife of 69 years, Marlene Harper.

He loved his family and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed working in his yard and restoring antique cars. He was a member of the Denton Antique Auto Club. He served in the US Navy in the Korean War and retired from the United States Postal Service.

The family would like to extend a special appreciation and thank you to Eagle Ridge Memory Care and to the staff at Dallas Hospice.

There will be no formal visitation, but a public viewing is available at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday. A graveside service will be held Monday at 2:00 at Roselawn Memorial Park  with Mike Spencer officiating. Viewing will be available 45 minutes before the service.

He was a member of Denton Bible Church.
