IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kenneth Ray
Griffeth
March 12, 1934 – November 20, 2023
A long-time resident of Denton, Kenneth Ray Griffeth, age 89, went to be with our Heavenly Father on November 20, 2023. Fondly known as Griff, Ken, and Grandad, he was born on March 12, 1934, in Denton, Texas and was raised on the family farm in Wise County in the small community of Fairview, currently New Fairview, near Rhome, Texas. Shortly after graduating from Northwest High School in 1952, Ken enlisted in the Air Force and proudly served our country as a helicopter mechanic.
In his free time, Ken was passionate about horse racing, owning many racehorses himself. He enjoyed playing dominoes and cards, and for many years played at the Elk's Lodge while making many friendships. He was an avid supporter of our community and local 4H and FFA programs, especially the ones his granddaughters were a part of. Ken loved watching all sports and especially enjoyed following boys' high school basketball and went to Austin for many years to watch the state basketball tournaments.
A devoted family man, Ken is survived by sons Larry Griffeth and wife Rhonda of Weatherford and Gary Griffeth of Denton; daughters Sharon Perea and husband Gustavo of North Richland Hills and, Tonya Fallin and late husband Jack of Granbury; grandchildren, Sarah Schertz (Jeff), Samantha Griffeth, Cordero Perea (Allison), Amy Perea, Jessie Browning (Forrest), Tristan Fallin (Sierra), Dustin Smith (Natalie), Weston McConathy (Corrie), and, Jason McConathy (Jamie); nine great-grandchildren; brother Mark Hannah, Jr. (Kathey); sisters Sally Mudd (Jim) and Nancy Martinez (Marty); and, numerous other family members. He is also survived by his beloved long-time companion, Oleta Trapp.
Ken was preceded in death by his mother, Jessie Hannah, grandparents, Tommie and Edward Griffeth, and son-in-law, Jack Fallin.
