Kenneth DeWayne Burdick age 64 of Denton , passed away Monday October 29, 2007 due to Cancer at the Denton Regional Center. Mr. Burdick grew up in Graham, Texas where he played football for Graham High School and Texas Western College in El Paso, Texas. He was a member of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity. After receiving his bachelor degree in business administration, Ken enlisted in the Air Force and worked in intelligence. During the Viet Nam War, Ken was stationed at SAC Headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska and later in Takhli, Thailand. Ken was a Bronze Star recipient while serving in the Air Force during the Viet Nam War. After his time in the Air force, he worked for Lone Star Gas, was the Vice President and Director of Economic Development for the Denton Chamber Commerce and served as the Executive Director of the North Texas State Fair, Ken's true passion was the love that he had for his family, friends, and dog's..
Ken was married to Patricia Evans Burdick for 42 years. He survived by his wife Pat, their two sons Christopher J. Burdick, Jeffrey Scott Burdick and his wife, Heather, along with 2 grandchildren Madeline Grace Burdick, and Michael Scott Burdick, all of Austin, Texas .He is also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins of Grahman, Texas, Pat's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John C. Evens of Mansfield, Texas, and a sister and brother-in-law Vicki and Tom Clarke of Williamsburg, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents, R.C. and Christine (Turner) Burdick of Graham.

Ken will be buried at 2:00 pm Friday November 2, 2007 with Military Honors at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway in Dallas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kens name to the American Cancer Society or the Denton Animal Shelter.
