IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kenneth Louis
Brown
January 18, 1944 – April 7, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth Louis Brown, who peacefully passed away on April 7, 2025 in Denton, TX at the age of 81. He was born on January 18, 1944 in Chicago, IL. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a cherished friend to those he interacted with in person, as well as, online.
"Ken", as many knew him as, wed his soulmate and lifelong love, Donna Jeanne Caron, on September 14, 1963, after a relationship that began when they were just 13 years old. They built a beautiful life together in the Chicago suburbs and Marengo, IL before relocating their young family to Texas in 1984. In 1991, after spending many years in Decatur and Denton, they established their residence in Krum, TX, where they acquired land and constructed their homestead in 1996.
Ken established a robust career in transportation, beginning with the Chicago Transit Authority and later transitioning to the trucking sector. Throughout his professional journey, he owned and operated numerous trucks, ultimately retiring from FedEx Freight in 2008 to enjoy country life with his wife. He consistently emphasized the importance of a strong work ethic to his children, aspiring for success not only for them but also for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ken was an avid fisherman who always took the opportunity to grab a pole and head to the nearest fishing hole. He enjoyed sharing these experiences with his kids and grandkids, friends, and neighbors. Ken had a variety of interests beyond fishing, including model railroading, carpentry, and woodworking. Later in life, he also took pleasure in restoring and working on his Ford tractors. Ken loved supporting his favorite football teams, the Chicago Bears and the Dallas Cowboys. You would also catch him on Saturday or Sunday afternoons relaxing in the living room watching golf. Ken possessed a profound affection for animals, which was evident in the numerous dogs, cats, and other pets that he and his wife and children brought into their home over the years. At one point, he and his wife, Donna, took pleasure in breeding purebred Siberian Huskies.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife Donna Brown, children; Kenneth Brown and wife Clara, Roxanne Pickard, Randall Brown and wife Michele, Cheryl Escobedo and husband Rene, Kristen Coppinger and husband Billy, Kevin Brown and wife Audreanna. His legacy lives on through his family, including 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
