Keith William Foley

May 16, 1958 – May 5, 2026

Keith William Foley was the kindest and most generous person. He was the OG who valued family and friends and welcomed everyone who walked into his life.

Keith was born in Tacoma, Washington, on May 16, 1958, and passed away unexpectedly on May 5, 2026. Growing up, Keith moved more than thirty times, living across the country and around the world while following his father’s Army career. He attended Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, and received his master’s degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Following a short career at Texaco, he graduated from the University of Houston Law Center. He practiced law with Mehaffy & Weber in Beaumont, Texas for 35 years.

Sports were an important part of Keith’s life, from playing basketball in high school to attending sporting events for his daughters and, most recently, his grandchildren. He coached and assisted with many soccer teams during the 24 years his girls played. Keith’s greatest passion in life was golf, and it consumed nearly every waking moment. Several Father’s Days ago, the family designed his garage into a golf simulator, and he used it every day. When he was not practicing in the garage or watching videos about golf, he was playing with Kendall and his three sons-in-law. Keith and Kendall often beat the guys, and everyone knew never to bet Keith “double or nothing” on the final hole. Keith’s favorite golf memory was last summer, when the family traveled to “Big Cheddar” in Missouri and stayed in a cabin on the first hole of the Payne’s Valley Golf Course. Some of his favorite places to golf included Amarillo Country Club, Pelican Point, Robson Ranch, Fossil Creek, Orange Beach, and Kiawah Island.

Keith’s life was filled with music. He listened to every genre, always streaming songs at home, in the garage while hitting golf balls, and out by the pool. Keith always had his iPod at his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events, helping him remain calm. One of his favorite games to play with his girls while riding in the car was, “I’ll give you a dollar if you can name this song and the artist.”

Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Rita Foley; his beloved son, Tyler Jay; and his nephew, Christopher Jordan.

He is survived by his wife, Gretchen Foley; daughters Kendall Henderson (Chad), Rachel McKenna (Ryan), and Kylie Benge (Brody); and his grandchildren Caroline (“Jibby”), Jude (“JuJu”), Gemma (“GEMMA JEAN”), Wells (“Cajun Cowboy”), John (“JOHNNY RAY”), and Weston (“Triple B”). He is also survived by his sister, Lisa Villarreal (Rick); sisters-in-law Elizabeth Achorn (Mark) and Judy Jordan (Steve); his brother at heart, David Golden (Daniela); nieces and nephews Suzie, Travis, Megan, Nathan, Nicolas, and Lauren; and great-nephew Stone.

“Spread the love and give an 8-second hug.”
