Kay Atkins, 68, of Denton, died Thursday November 24, 2005, at her home in Denton.
Mrs. Atkins was born August 2, 1937 in Farmerville, Louisiana to Homer and Lovie (Moore) Hollis. She graduated from public schools and attended Bee County Community College. She was married to Frank Atkins on October 12, 1967 in Homer, Louisiana. She was a grandmother, a homemaker and had been a sales associate for Montgomery Ward. She was very active in her Bible Study Fellowship and with her membership of the Denton Bible Church.
Visitation will be from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday November 27 at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday November 28, 2005 in the chapel of the Denton Bible Church. Rev. Tom Nelson will officiate the service. Interment will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday November 29 at the Zion Hill Cemetery in Farmerville, LA. Rev. Connie Ward will officiate the service.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Atkins of Denton; daughter, Mary Katherine Atkins of Denton; son, Patrick Atkins and his wife Lynda of The Colony; brother, Tom Ledbetter, Farmerville, LA; grandchildren, Lauryn and Josh Atkins of The Colony; mother, Lovie Ledbetter of Denton, two Aunts and many extended family members. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Enver Ledbetter, and brother, Don Hollis.
