Obituary

Kathleen M. Wilmott Lynass, 75, died Monday, December 23, 2013 at her home in Denton.
Kathleen was born on December 21, 1938 in Devil's Lake, North Dakota to Robert E. and Evelyn Beatrice (Vanderlin) Wilmott. She was married to Jerry Lynass on August 30, 1958 in Alliance, Nebraska.
Kathleen and Jerry moved to Denton after having enjoyed living 22 years in Waipahu, HI. She and Jerry began raising their family in Alliance and Scottsbluff, NE, and lived in Cheyenne, WY, Fort Worth, and Houston.
She graduated from St. Agnes Academy, Alliance, NE, where Kathleen ("Casey") was a cheerleader, and attended Girls' State in Lincoln, NE. Kathleen attended St. Mary's College, Leavenworth, KS, in 1956, and a year later started working at Guardian State Bank in Alliance, where she met Jerry.
Over the years, Kathleen was involved in several service organizations including Beta Sigma Phi and Fort Worth Newcomers' Club. Her hobbies included reading, playing Bridge, weekend sailing, sewing, Hawaiian quilting, and cooking, which led to her being named the 1972 Fort Worth Star Telegram Bake-Off Grand Prize winner. In the midst of raising five children, Kathleen worked for many years as a secretary for Brown and Root and, later, Shell Oil Company in Houston. In Hawaii, Kathleen was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary and editor of the CGA Tradewinds, which won a CGA national publication award.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Lynass of Denton; daughters, Ann Lynass Yarbrough and husband Darrell of Katy, TX, Mary Lynass of Scottsdale, AZ, Kate Lynass of Denton, TX; sons, John Lynass and wife Melanie Nester Lynass of Highlands Ranch, CO, Patrick Lynass and wife Nichole "Nikki" Hochstein Lynass of Santa Monica, CA; sisters, Beverly Schuetz of Powell, WY, Marjorie Schuetz Wallin and husband Jack of Garden Grove, CA; grandchildren, Sarah Yarbrough, Reuel Yarbrough, Mason Lynass, Caitlyn Vann, Todd Lynass, and Max Lynass.
Fr. Khoi Tran will celebrate a memorial funeral Mass at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
