Kathleen Mae Turner went to her heavenly home on February 27, 2026.She is now resting in the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and reunited with her beloved husband Don.
Kathleen “Kat” Holb was born in Akron, Ohio on October 9, 1932, to John and Justine (Elmert) Holb. Kat was the fourth of 10 children. Stories abound of the adventures of this boisterous, loving family. She and her siblings remained close throughout her lifetime.
In 1950, Kathleen graduated from Greensburg High School. While in the seventh grade there in Greensburg she met a charming young man named Donald Turner, who she eventually married in 1952. Upon graduation Kat worked as a secretary at the B.F. Goodrich Company where she put her exceptional typing skills to use. After starting their family, Kathleen embraced her role as a stay-at-home mom to her three children.
When she was in her mid 30’s, her childhood faith became more vital to her life. Sharing the life changing message of the Gospel became her passion.
Don and Kathleen lived in the Akron area until 1977 when they moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan. They later returned to Ohio, living in Findlay, Dublin, and Wooster before settling in Denton, Texas in 2008.
Kat was an avid reader and an enthusiastic traveler. She and Don enjoyed visiting many U. S. destinations including Hawaii as well as Mexico.
Kathleen is survived by her daughter Kathleen T. Gardiner and her son-in-law Randy, of Denton, Texas and by her son James C. Turner and her daughter-in-law Debbie, of Carrollton, Texas. Also surviving are her three grandchildren; Joy Robb of Woodbridge, Virginia; Emily Smith of Gilbert, Arizona; and Matthew Turner of Frisco, Texas.
Kathleen was blessed with five precious great grandchildren: Sawyer, Henry, Beckett, Aiden, and Jocelyn. Kat is further survived by her sisters Janet Holbert and Marie Ricks as well as two brothers John and Robert Holb. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
