Kathleen M. DeGreif, 86 of Lewisville, TX passed away peacefully December 5, 2007 at Provencia of Lewisville.
She was born September 5, 1921, in Independence, IA, the daughter of William and Oliver Holder. She graduated from Independence High School in 1938. She was employed at the Mental Health Institute for several years before contributing to the war efforts as a 3 rd class Electrician at Mare Island, CA. She returned to Independence and married Philip DeGreif at St. James Episcopal on May 8, 1945. They moved to San Antonio, TX for a few years and returned to Independence where she was employed at Holder's Frozen Foods (her brother's business) for a period of time prior to being employed as an Administrative Assistant at the State Mental Health Institute. She enjoyed golfing and was a member of Buffalo Creek Country Club in Winthrop, IA. She was a member of Saint Catherine's Guild at St. James. She also enjoyed baking and sewing. She and Philip retired in 1983 and moved to McAllen, TX. In 1996 Philip preceded her in death. In 1998, she moved to Lewisville, TX to be closer to family.
Kathleen is survived by two sons, James and wife Kathy DeGreif of Lewisville, TX and Philip Ted and wife Jill DeGreif of Grayson, KY, four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren and one brother, Henry Holder of Lewisville.
In addition to her husband, her parents, one sister and one brother preceded her in death.
Memorial Service will be held in the Oratory Chapel, Church of the Annunciation Episcopal 602 N Old Orchard Ln. (at College Pkwy) Lewisville, TX, on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at 5 PM.
