Karen Sue Wilson, owner of the McCart Street Charm, a gift boutique in Krum TX, passed away peacefully at her home on Good Friday, March 25, 2016.
Known as the long time proprietor of the Courthouse Collection on the Denton square and the lady who wore the "little cute reading glasses," Karen was a fixture in the local small business community. She was considered a friend by many of her regular customers and likewise appreciated their loyal patronage. She was a graduate of Denton High, class of 1981 and received her bachelor's degree from The University of North Texas.
Karen loved the Denton Community and supported local efforts whenever she could. She spent many hours preparing and donating food items to charitable events and non-profit organizations. She loved to snow ski and travel with her family. While at UNT she traveled to England with the study abroad program. As a huge fan of girls fastpitch softball, she spent countless weekends traveling to see her nieces play tournament ball all around the country. She will be remembered as a generous, caring, loving and charitable lady with a heart of gold.
She will be missed by her loving mother and best friend Doretha Wilson, sister Kelly Quintanar, nieces' Sara Silva and Madeline Quintanar, great niece, Olivia Reese Silva, brother-in-law Art Quintanar, nephew -in-law, Colton Silva, her 98 year old aunt, Georgia May Roberson, aunt and uncle Lavada and Clayton Whorton, many cousins, and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her loving father, Charles N. Wilson, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday March 30, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Mulkey Mason Funeral Home, (705 N. Locust in Denton, TX.). Funeral services will be on Thursday March 31, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Denton Bible Church Chapel (2300 E University Dr. in Denton, TX). Graveside ceremony will follow the service at Roselawn Memorial Cemetery.
