J.W. (Sam) Warren, Jr., 76, of Denton, died Wednesday February 27, 2008 at Senior Care Center in Denton.
Sam Warren was born October 17, 1931 in Dallas to J.W. "Sam" and Ruth Louise Warren. He was married to Lucy Carlisle on April 10, 1955 in Dallas, TX. He graduated with high honors from Forest Avenue High School then attended Arlington State University and graduated from North Texas State University with a Bachelor degree in Business Administration. Upon graduation, he was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the United States Air Force. He was co-owner of the Sam Warren Engine Company in Dallas. He was a member of the Sanger Church of Christ.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday March 1, 2008 at First Baptist Church, 1100 Malone St., Denton. Dr. Jeff Williams, Jim Roberts and Sam Warren will officiate the service. Visitation will be from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM before the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be: Matt Warren, Joel Warren, Bobby Gentry, Bobby Gentry, Jr., Westin Gentry, Taite Gentry; honorary pallbearers will be: Hal O'Brien, David Miller, Charlie Carlisle, Allen Carlisle, Albert Warren, Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Lucy Warren of Denton; daughter, Laura Gentry and her husband Bobby of Corinth; sons, Sam Warren, III and his wife Joni of Boerne, Matt Warren of Denton; sister, Dorothy O'Brien and her husband Hal of Dallas; brothers-in-law, Charles Carlisle, Allen Carlisle; sisters-in-law, Ann Carlisle, Margaret Carlisle; grandchildren, Janise Warren, Jessica Warren, Joel Warren, Jamie Warren, Alexander Warren, Bobby Gentry, Westin Gentry, Taite Gentry.
Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
