Obituary

Julia Ann Crutcher Perkins, age 83 of Denton, Texas went home to be with the Lord on May 21, 2022. She was born on December 6, 1938 in Linden, Texas (Cass County) to James Benny Crutcher and Annie Ruth (Hayes) Crutcher. Julia grew-up in Terrell, Texas and graduated with academic honors from Terrell High School in 1957.

She married the love of her life Charles Avery Perkins in September 1957. They celebrated 64 years together. They had two children who feel truly blessed to be a reflection of her goodness.

Julia was proud of her accomplished Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education graduating in 1967 from The University of North Texas and taught 5th grade proudly. She was very proud of being an alumni from UNT. She was academically gifted and demonstrated a love for learning at an early age.

Her love for the Lord remained a cornerstone of her life, which allowed her to navigate its many peaks and valleys with inspiring resilience and unwavering faith. She had an immense love for her family and absolutely adored her grandchildren.

She was an amazing pianist and soprano vocalist. She sang the Lord's Prayer at her HS Baccalaureate. She sang in the church choir; and was asked to sing at weddings and other events. She had such a passion for music.

Julia loved fashion and she did it with such style. She had a passion for classic movies. She loved reading especially the Bible, cooking and spending time with her family; especially holidays as she loved to celebrate. She especially loved Autumn (the changing colors). Christmas time was her favorite time of the year and she will be remembered by her carrot and red velvet cake; banana puddings and her famous potato salad. When we were blessed with snow she would make the most awesome snow ice cream.

Her smile and joy for life was contagious. She was extremely witty…anyone who knew her would tell you so. She was ever so caring and gracious.

In life we loved you dearly. You have left us peaceful memories and your love will be our guide.

Julia is preceded in death by her parents and brother James Crutcher.

Survived by her husband Charles A. Perkins, son Joel A. Perkins, daughter Natalie (Tim) Weaver. Sister Edith Huddleston and brother Charles Crutcher. Grandchildren Kaylie Weaver (Bryte Henry), Krista Weaver and Kollin (Libby) Weaver and many nieces and nephews.

Family will say their farewell privately. We are grateful for the thoughts and prayers of family and friends.
