Juan Jose Agado from Thackerville OK passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones after a short illness at Medical City-Denton on June 14, 2025. He was born in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, MX to Ignacio Agado and Guadalupe Benavides on March 4, 1949. He moved to the United States in 1951 to San Benito, TX. Later in life, Juan moved to Denton TX where he married and raised his family.

Early on in life he traveled throughout the US doing migrant work and settled in Denton, TX where he made his career in concrete construction and made many life friends and acquaintances. He left his print in all of Denton County with his line of work. Semi-retired in Thackerville, OK where he loved the country life watching deer run across his front yard.

Juan was preceded in death by his parents Ignacio and Guadalupe. Sister, Josefina Nunez. His brothers, Alfredo Agado, Manuel Agado and Ignacio Agado. His daughter, Melissa Agado and grandson, Stevan Wilkerson. And life partner Socorro "Choco" Hernandez.

He made his life in Denton, TX and was married for 25 years to Rosa Verdin and had 3 children. He is survived by his children, Esmeralda Young (Allen), Jose Omar Agado (Marissa) and bonus son Javier Hernandez (Norma); 3 grandchildren, Melissa Hall, Madison Rigby and Dayton Wilkerson; 2 great-granddaughters, Carisa Hall, Bailey Hall and Baby Rigby on the way; sisters, Margarita Rosales (Denton, TX), Ana Posada (Immokalee, FL) and Guadalupe Reyna (Edinburg, TX); and many nieces and nephews.

He was surrounded by family, lifelong friends & co-workers and many nieces and nephews. Juan will be dearly missed by all.

He loved woodworking, gardening, bingo and worked to the very end.

The celebration of life will Friday June 20, 2025. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. with a memorial service from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Deacon Barry Sweeden will officiate the service. He will be cremated at his request.
