Joy Brown, 97, of Denton, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2009 at the Denton Good Samaritan Village.  She was born March 12, 1912 in Goshen, Arkansas to James Meeks and Clara Cecil (Welch) Haley.  She was married to W L Brown on December 28, 1932 in Gravette, Arkansas, he passed away on November 30, 2005.   She was a Homemaker, and a member of the Denton Bible Church, and life long student and teacher of the Bible.

A funeral service will be 11:00 am Friday April 24, 2009 in the Chapel of Denton Bible Church, with Rev. Tom Nelson, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Roselawn   Memorial Park.  The family will be at the Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton Thursday April 23, 2009 from 7 until 8 pm for visitation.

Mrs. Brown is survived by a Son, Wilson Louis Brown, of Chantilly, VA., and two Grandsons,  William L. Brown, of San Antonio, Texas and Patrick L. Brown, of Flagstaff, Az.  One great granddaughter, Josephine Ester. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Ann Knight
