Joseph Monroe Marino, 53, of Denton, died Thursday May 31, 2007 at Presbyterian Hospital in Denton.
Joseph was born on August 15, 1953 in Oxford, Mississippi to Samuel J. and Dorothy (Quinney) Marino. He graduated with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Philosophy and Political Science and earned a Masters degree in Public Administration. He was married to Melinda Gaddie on January 7, 1991 in Van Alstyne, TX. He worked as a supervisor for the city of Dallas at the Carrollton Water Treatment Plant since 1993.
Joseph earned his third degree black belt in Shintoshi Karate; fourth black belt in Iado Japanese sword; taught and practiced meditation and was a Kriya Yoga Initiate of Roy Eugene Davis, in the Paramahansa Yogananda Lineage ; and was Rosicrucian for over 20 Years. .
Celebration of the funeral mass will be said at 2:00 PM Monday June 4, 2007 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2255 N. Bonnie Brae, Denton. Msgr. Charles King will officiate the service. Family visitation will be from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday Jun 3 at the Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Melinda Gaddie Marino of Denton; father, Sam and stepmother Myrtle Marino of Denton; sister, Mary Leila Marino of Denton; brother, Michael L. and and his wife Debbie Marino of Denton; niece, Mindy Klement of Austin; nephew, Steven Klement of Austin; stepbrother, Ernie A. Nall of Denton; stepsister, Becky Nall Simpson of Scotts Bluff, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Marino.
