Obituary

Joseph Barrett Holsinger, beloved husband, father, and pa, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, April 15, 2007.
On August 5, 1948, Joe was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania, the first born son of Joe and Patti Holsinger. He graduated from Marion Catholic High School in Marion, Ohio, and attended Ohio State University. On June 27, 1970, he married his high school sweetheart Ann Gibb. Although they moved frequently in their early marriage, they made Denton their home in 1993.
A retired retail manager, Joe was embarking on a new career as a certified medical coder. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church where he served as a lector, a Eucharistic minister, a mentor to engaged couples, and an active participant in Bible study groups. He was also a member of an ACTS organization, and he greatly valued the prayer and support of his ACTS brothers.
Joe's greatest satisfaction was in his family. His wife was his best friend, and his children and his grandchildren were his treasures. Through his example, he instilled in those around him the value of hard work, the importance of family, and a love for learning.
He is survived by his wife Ann; daughters and their husbands, Nicole and Houston Herlin, Melissa and Ricky Hall, Kara Holsinger and Ashley Holsinger; grandchildren Julia Hall, Joseph, Jackson and Savannah Herlin; brother John Holsinger and his wife Nancy; brother James Holsinger; and sister Mary Holsinger.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Friday April 20, 2007 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2255 N Bonnie Brae, Denton. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton. Msgr. Charles B. King will conduct the Mass. Visitation will be 7:00 to 7:30 pm with Rosary 7:30 to 8:00 pm Thursday, April 19, 2007, at Mulkey-Mason Jack Schmitz and son Funeral Home, 705 North Locust St., Denton, Texas 76201.
Memorials made to the Hospice Group of your choice.
