Joneen (McCorkle) Haisler, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, family member and friend passed away on January 15, 2022, in Denton, TX.
Born in Crane, TX on December 2, 1940, she was the daughter of John E. and Carol (Kidd) McCorkle, and was the eldest of three children.
She moved to Ft. Worth TX as a young girl and grew up there with her parents, siblings and friends. She graduated from Trimble Tech High School in Ft. Worth, and took courses at Texas Christian University.
In her early years after school she was an accomplished secretary who rose through the ranks to become secretary for the president of Tandy Corp in Ft Worth. After her marriage and move to Denton, she was a senior secretary in the English Department at University of North Texas.
After Joneen started a family with her husband she was a devoted mother, managing the household on the family farm in Denton, TX, and raising two sons to adulthood. During her spare time she enjoyed being involved in charitable and non-profit organizations donating her time and efforts in causes to help others, one being Secretary Treasurer for the Denton Diabetic Association for many years.
Family and friends were paramount to Joneen. She enjoyed family reunions, family gatherings for the holidays, birthday parties, church social gatherings, and getting together with her friends.
She accepted Jesus at a young age, and loved the Lord and the church all her life. Being strongly convicted in her faith, she was a Sunday school teacher for many years at Blue Mound United Methodist, as well as being active in many social prayer groups and causes that shared her love of God over the course of her life. She was a strong supporter of the Nation of Israel and considered herself Messianic Jewish as part of her Christian faith. Her faith was integral to her individuality and showed in her actions and kindness, and helped sustain her through health problems she faced during her lifetime, including diabetes and breast cancer.
She was preceded in passing by her parents both parental and marriage and is survived by her loving husband Melvin of 55 years of marriage, brother John and sister-in-law Jackie McCorkle, sister Karen Ann and brother-in-law Mike Mayes, Sr., in-laws J.B. and Shirley Haisler, Mary Ann McCutcheon, sons Vince and Reese, granddaughters Vivienne and Violette, and numerous loved cousins, nieces and nephews.
Joneen's funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm at Blue Mound United Methodist Church on Saturday January 22, 2022, with burial following in Blue Mound Cemetery.
There will be a visitation at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6-8pm.
