Obituary

Johnnie B. Miller, age 94, born October 9, 1919 to Dollie and Grover Miller in Sherman, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 in Denton.

Johnnie served his country proudly in the United States Navy, on the USS Independence, during World War II. He was a long-time resident of Lake Dallas, after moving from Denison. Johnnie retired from Hundley Boat Company, as a master craftsman.

Johnnie is survived by daughter Dollie Mooneyhan and husband Wayene; grandchildren; Tammy McDonald and husband John, Gary Phariss and wife Kelly; Michael Phariss and wife Jodie; four great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; wife, Alice Miller of 55 years; and loving daughter Fran Phariss and husband John.

Visitation will be on Friday, March 14, 2014, 6:00-8:00 pm at Denton Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be Saturday, March 15, 2014, 10:00 am in the Denton Funeral Home Chapel, 120 S Carroll Blvd, Denton, Texas 76201. Dr. Ben Smith, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Lake Dallas, officiating. Burial will be in Swisher Cemetery, Lake Dallas.
