John Zimmerman, age 59, of Lewisville, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2009, in Lewisville.

He was born May 25, 1950 in Germany. John served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He married Pattie VanLeuven on May 2, 1975 in San Diego, California.

John is survived by his wife, Pattie; children, Bonnie, Neco, John and Jeannette; 17 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and brother, Robert Zimmerman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Zimmerman and Ann Gilbert Zimmerman.

A graveside service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 19, 2009, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. The family requests memorial contributions made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
