John Walker, 88, of Denton, died Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Presbyterian Hospital in Denton.
John was born on May 3, 1926 in Markinch, Fife, Scotland to David McIlroy and Agnes (Campbell) Walker. He was married to Mary Beth Kerr on March 31, 1961 in Dallas, TX. He was a member of the Denton Rotary Club and the First Baptist Church of Denton. He served in the British Army and had been manager of Title Resources.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Beth Walker of Denton; daughter, Jacquelyn Stands of El Dorado, KS; son, J.D. Walker of Corinth; sisters, Jean Smith of Desoto, Ruth Coston of Cleburne; grandchildren, Taylor Stands, Trent Stands, Tiffany Walker, Jim Walker, Annie Beth Walker; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Moira Walker Godsell and brothers, David Walker and Campbell Walker.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 23, 2014 at the First Baptist Church.
