Obituary
John Thomas Stanford, 78, of Denton, died Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Senior Care Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. Stanford was born on September 29, 1933 in Denton County, Texas to Elbert Carson and Ola Pearl (Leatherwood) Stanford. He was married to Betty Joyce Sprabeary on October 3, 1953 in Lewisville, TX (she died on November 28, 2008). He was self employed in the sand and gravel business.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Trinity Cemetery. Rev. Buddy Owens will officiate the service.
He is survived by his daughter, Malinda Potynski and her husband Greg of Denton; sister, Lorene Mercer of Denton; brother, Elbert C. Stanford, Jr. of Denton; sisters-in-law, Alice Laird of Denton and Linda Crisp of Denton. He was preceded in death by a sister, Billie Jean Arnold and brother, C.E. "Red" Stanford.
The family would like to express special thanks to Senior Care for their loving care, to Dr. Bhatt and Kathleen Moore for their exceptional medical care and Hospice Plus for their compassionate care and support.
