John Warren Johnson, 68, of Denton, died Saturday January 8, 2011 at his home.
Born on November 14, 1942 in Greenwood, Arkansas to John Luther and Joyce (Oldham) Johnson, John married Grace Louise Rhodes on December 2, 1964 in Orange, Texas. He graduated from U.T. Austin with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering in 1967 and retired as a Managing Director of Maintenance for American Airlines in 1998.
John is survived by his wife Grace of Denton; sons Mike and Sam of New York City; brothers - Texas Supreme Court Justice Phil Johnson of Lubbock and Austin and David Johnson, M.D. of Tyler; a multitude of nieces and nephews and their children; and many good friends. He loved life, his family, his country, traveling the world, studying history and politics, riding with his Harley "gang," watching football and baseball, and driving his car. John was able to check off every item on his bucket list except for eating at M.R. Pigs Café in Idabel, Oklahoma.
A celebration of John's life will be held later in January for family and friends.
