"Jack" Ehrhart
September 13, 1941 – August 10, 2017
John Phillip "Jack" Ehrhart, 75, died Thursday, August 10, 2017 of complications from a hemorrhagic stroke he suffered in March, 2017.Jack was born in Columbus, Ohio, the only child of Evelyn and Jack Ehrhart on September 13, 1941 and was raised in the Ft. Worth, Texas area.
He served in the United States Army as a Radio Operator and member of the 82nd Airborne Division. Jack moved to Denton in 1975 and with his wife, Annette, opened their jewelry store. He loved nothing more than working on and creating jewelry and was fortunate to be able to do just that until the day before his stroke. He considered himself fortunate to have had so many fond memories and great relationships over the past 42 years in a business that he loved.
He was an avid golfer, hunter, fisherman, poker and card player and collector of many things in his lifetime. Although often overwhelmed by the numbers, he was proud of the large extended family he married into and the beautiful family he and Annette raised.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years (they count 82 years because they lived and worked side by side their entire marriage) and his five children, son, George "Rusty" and his wife Carol Ehrhart and their children Jamie and wife Amanda Rambo, David Baccus, Lilly and husband Myk Griffen and great granddaughter, Symphanie and Evelyn Ehrhart; son, John Phillip Ehrhart, II and his sons Philip and wife Monique Ehrhart (and great grandchild to come soon) and Christian Ehrhart; daughter, Lisa Hammons and son, Chandler Dodson; son, Everett "Tigger" Ehrhart and his children, Trinity Ehrhart, Joely Ehrhart and Aidan Ehrhart and daugher, Vanetta and her husband, Keith Shugart and their children, Dayton Shugart, Madelyn Shugart, Gwendelyn Shugart and Reagan Shugart. Jack also leaves behind a large extended family and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation and rosary will be held between 6-8 PM Friday, August 18, 2017 at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Immaculate Conception Church, 2255 N. Bonnie Brae, Denton. Interment will follow at a later date at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Good Samaritan Denton Village and VNA Hospice for their wonderful and loving care of Jack.
