John Thomas Holmes, age 57, born to the parentage of Earl H. and Lucille Holmes on June 25, 1949. John was called home on October 20, 2006 after a courageous battle
with heart disease at the home of his parents in Lake Dallas, TX. John was a 1968 graduate of H. Grady Spruce High School and was a retired truck driver. Preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Thomas F. and Willie Holmes of Ada, OK, and maternal grandparents John and Lillie Frier of Dallas, TX. Survived by parents Earl H. and Lucille Holmes of Lake Dallas, TX; sisters, Deborah Kean and husband Ken of Dallas, TX and children, Melissa Guiterrez of Denton, TX and Kimberley Barnes, of Carrollton, TX; Brenda Brooks and husband Lee and their children, Colby and Roy Brooks, all of Athens, TX; Becki Johnson and husband David and their children Ashly, Kelli, Branden and David Johnson Jr., all of Athens, TX.; numerous aunts and uncles. At John's request there will be no services at this time, however, there will be a memorial service held at a later date. The family would like to thank Brenda Sellers of Ann's Haven Hospice for her loving care of John.
